EU Green Week event: Circular buildings

Environment, climate and energy, Events | 23-05-2022

Welcome to this EU Green Week partner event on "Circular buildings – constructing differently and sustainably". The Nordic capitals and capital regions will share best practices and discuss challenges related to circular buildings and construction, as well as how to close building material loops by reusing, repairing, and recycling materials.

Thursday 2 June | 10.00-12.00
(followed by a networking lunch)

The construction and demolition sectors generate one of the highest volumes of waste in the EU with buildings and construction being responsible for 35% of the EU’s waste generation and around one third of its greenhouse gas emissions.

Local and regional authorities play a key role in driving and implementing circular principles in the building and construction sector.
